We’re looking for volunteers to help us run All Things Fungi Festival. It’s a great way to get involved, meet people, and experience the festival from behind the scenes.
Welcome!
Here you will find everything you need to know about applying for our volunteering offer. Please read each section carefully before completing your answers. Any further questions, please contact us before submitting your application volunteers@allthingsfungifestival.co.uk.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us. We see the All Things Fungi Festival crew as a team, community and family and appreciate the hard work of everyone equally.
The public festival hours are from: 9am Friday 18th Sept - 12am Sunday 20th Sept 2026. (Festival goers may stay until 1pm Monday 21st Sept).
Volunteers are required between the above times to do 2 x 6-hour shifts & arrive Thursday 17th Sept (no later than 2pm) & stay until Monday 21st (leaving no earlier than 2pm) to assist with set-up & tidy-up.
RSVPing: We respect your time, so we ask you to respect ours. The less last-minute cancellations the smoother the ship steers for the whole team. If your application is accepted but you can no longer attend the festival or are unsure, please let us know as soon as possible. Thank you!
What if I can't meet the above requirements? As the popularity of the festival has increased (which we are grateful for!) so has the number of volunteer applications, raising the demand on a limited number of places. We want to prioritise people who can meet the above requirements, really settle/get stuck in, spending the full length of time to enjoy all behind the scenes. Additionally, having plentiful free time to enjoy the incredible line-up. We would encourage you to set time aside to commit in full as part of the requirements, however if you can't, please inform us in your application of any attendance limitations.
What happens next? Once you have completed this form, we will be in touch within 21 working days to confirm your place. Applications close on the 18th August '26. If you completed the application but cannot meet the full requirements, you will be placed on the reserve list. If spaces are still available you will be contacted after this time. Shortly after applications have closed, we will host an optional online Q+A meeting to say hello and answer any questions you have. Invitations with full details will be sent out closer to time.
Crew Meals: We provide 2 hot meal tokens for use at our festival cafe (use any time you are not on shift), plus a crew meal Thursday night and breakfast Monday morning. 4 meals in total.
Crew Camping: You may arrive from Wednesday should you wish, just please note there will be no hot food available till the following afternoon. You will be able to camp in our crew field separate to the festival goers. 5-minute walk from crew parking (you do not need a parking pass). If you have a live-in vehicle, you can bring it with you to crew camping, should ground conditions allow. If the weather is poor you will park with ticket holders (on the festival site, still close to all). Please be sure to bring all your own camping equipment and plenty of warm/dry clothing for the autumnal weather. We will provide any equipment or high-vis-wear required to perform duties. Note we do not permit open fires or pets on site.
Facilities: Toilet and £3 shower facilities are available on site for all (£5 for punters). Tokens can be bought using cash or card at the Café. We ask all volunteers to be mindful when using the compost loo facilities. Should you see that paper or sawdust are running low, please alert a member of the team. There will also be a kettle and microwave for volunteer use.
Forays: Forays will be running all day through-out the festival. As a volunteer you will be able to attend providing you are happy to wear high-vis and offer any assistance necessary to the foray leader, should they need it. We need to make sure there is at least one volunteer attending each foray - so if there are certain ones with a lot of volunteers going - we will ask you to choose a different one. On Friday you can sign-up on a first come first serve basis at the Production Tent.
Workshops: You can purchase paid workshop tickets from the Production Tent as is standard for punters. For drop-in workshops, we ask that you communicate with the Workshop Lead to gauge availability for crew to attend as it is at their discretion. Where possible outside your shift times, please arrive early to offer assistance and be mindful of how full the session is getting.
Roles: The types of roles we are looking to fill consist largely of observational and operational duties, providing public help and assuring safety. On each shift regardless of role, volunteers will be asked to do 15 mins of tidying/site maintenance, so we may share the load and keep on top of things throughout the day - removing the need for a whole shift dedicated to this.
Arrival: State you are a volunteer at the gate and you will be directed to the Production Tent for your ID check-in (volunteers must be 18+) with our Volunteer Manager. You will be provided with your crew wristband, food tokens and told your shift type and times. This information will not be shared until check-in as is standard festival procedure. Rest assured no role requires pre-preparation. On Thursday at 6pm we will have a crew meeting.
Goodbye for now! Once again huge thank you for your interest. Each year the festival is expanding its community and we can't wait to welcome you and see what this year has in store! Reminder to please read each question in the application carefully.
Yours Sincerely - ATFF Family
